The Mother of All Goans...

GROoOOOOOOoOOOooOAAAaaAaaaaaAaaAAaaaAaaNNnnn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, i'm contemplating escapism. Here's what i gots....

What if i sold everything i have, cept for, say, a trunk full of extra important belongings, my wonderful Mac, and an ipod full of catchy country tunes, emo worship and maybe a loud angry tune or two. Then, with that money, get me a shiny new, Black, V8 Ford Mustang GT coupe... or convertable, and just drive.... take a good long road trip, and keep driving till i run out of gas and cash. Then see where on the map i end up, dig myself into a cave and pretend i'm a great big grizzly bear for the rest of my life. Here's why:

Yaaaaaaaaaa.... i so sound like such an over achiever right now XD GOOD JOB Jan Faye!

Well... if u got a better idea, i'm open to hear one. And if you're going to say quit everything i'm doing and go work in Disneyland as a animatronic character, i've already thought of that. The good long drive and becoming a bear sounds a whole lot more appealing.

I had written this in one of my class notes recently:

What sells a joke?
  • All humour is about pain.
  • Watching characters react to pain amuses people.
  • When a character unwittingly participates in his own clobbering.
  • When the villain participates in his own demise.
YES... we are a sadistic race of creatures aren't we.

Shake Us to Wake Us...

... He did not even need to ask me what i was crying about. When he looked at me I just poured out every fear, doubt, worry, and question I had. "Why, why, why?" I asked.
Calmly John asked me, "Lisa, what have you asked God to do in your life? Did you ask for furniture or clothes?"
At that moment I was silently wishing I had asked for blessing instead of what I was going through.
John probed further. "What did you ask for?"
"I asked God to refine me," I mumbled back.
"Well, that is what you are getting," John answered and walked out.

Sigh! The irony of life...  Why can't I simply be satisfied just asking for blessings. Why must we insist on more? More than just the to be bless, but to in turn be the blesser or blessing? Life's a joke that's not as funny when the jokes on you. "God, why do i keep getting the feeling You're in this annoying business of constantly bugging me to bite off waaaay more than i can chew?"

I have placed My hand upon you. The same hand that brings anointing also applies pressure. So do not resist My work in you. It is a good work to refine and strengthen, change and renew. A new thing I will do in you, a new flame I will kindle. I'm preparing a vessel for this flame. A lamp for that light, one that is not tinted and does not obstruct the light. I will give you rest, My child, so fear not; lean upon Me as we travel swiftly to this new place.

When you find yourself
In some far off place
And it causes you to rethink some things
You start to sense that slowly
You're becoming someone else
And then you find yourself

When you make new friends in a brand new town
And you start to think about settlin' down
The things that would have been lost on you
Are now clear as a bell
And you find yourself
Yeah that's when you find yourself

Where you go through life
So sure of where you’re headin'
And you wind up lost and it's
The best thing that could have happened
‘Cause sometimes when you lose your way it's really just as well
Because you find yourself
Yeah that’s when you find yourself

When you meet the one
That you've been waitin' for
And she's everything that you want and more
You look at her and you finally start to live for some one else
And then you find yourself
That’s when you find yourself

When we go through life
So sure of where we're headin'
And we wind up lost and it's
The best thing that could have happened
‘Cause sometimes when you lose your way it's really just as well
Because you find yourself
Yeah that's when you find yourself
